Therapy shouldn’t feel like a scary place. My aim is to create a safe space and a relatable approach toTherapy, ensuring your faith and values are always respected.
What can I expect from a session?
I understand that coming to therapy for the first time can be extremely daunting. I can offer you a confidential space to explore your emotions, in a non-judgmental manner. I aim to create a comfortable environment for all of my clients. No issue is too big or too small for therapy, and I can assure you we will work together to support your wellbeing.
That being said, the therapy I offer is practical and structured. My approach involves developing a plan to target the heart of the issue affecting your mental health, providing specialized CBT for Anxiety and Depression to help you regain control of your life.
All sessions offered are 1-1 and offered online via video call (Zoom). This allows me to provide effective treatment online to clients regardless of their location. Sessions are weekly and typically last 50 minutes to 1 hour.
What therapies do you offer?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is regarded a ‘psychological medicine’ and is recommended by the NICE guidelines. It is a practical approach and best for those who are ready and willing to commit to making changes in their life.
Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) is an evidence-based approach to treating multiple traumatic events by ‘telling the story’ of the trauma in order to facilitate processing of the event in the brain.
Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), a neuro-psychotherapeutic approach which aims to alleviate trauma by activating the brain’s natural healing systems to process shock in the nervous system.
Specialised treatment programmes:
For those who are experiencing symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder following traumatic life events, I am able to adapt any one of the above modalities. Your first session will be a space where we can get to know one another and I can explain how I would use each therapeutic modality, such as Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) or Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), to support your unique healing journey.
If you are experiencing OCD or Religious scrupulosity (Religious OCD or waswasa), I offer a combination of Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Therapy, where we will work together to understand of your OCD symptoms without dismissing your beliefs. I use a combination of CBT and DBR to reduce the anxiety around obsessions and compulsive behaviours.
If you are experiencing low self esteem and/ or Social Anxiety, CBT is very effective in treating these issues and we can work together to build your confidence. My aim is to help you to understand your triggers, build on your core foundation and break negative patterns that developed in early life.
